Peregrine Peak Trail
The Peregrine Peak Trail is one of my personal favorites. As you can see by this picture and comparing it to the profile shot you can see that it is exposed, narrow and steep. The trail cuts the return trip in half and the view of Alum Cave is 2nd to none. Before, the trail was guarded by a HEFTY fine ($25,000) but as of yesterday the warning sign at the secret entrance was gone. But beware Peregrine Falcons do nest at on the rock ledges so don't be that guy.

Peregrine ridge is balls out! I have never hiked it, but have eyed it and heard stories of Johny Mags climbing it.
That's cool you took your Mom up to LeConte, she must be a trooper. That is by far my favorite hike in the Smokies.

So glad you took a pic of that. Last summer, my wife and her friend trail ran up to the Laconte and she told me about that hole in a mountain and I never could picture it in my mind. Now I know!

One thing I would like to accomplish is to do all the mtns. over 6000' or something like that. I would like to compile a list of the tallest hills in the Smokies and then knock them out like the 14ers in Colorado.
