2008 Rado CX State Championships

From the our Racing Reporter: Bubba

Yep…the big one…the state championships. Cool temps and some sun brought everyone out for this epic. Legendary promoter Chris Grealish (Vegas CX, Boulder Cups) put on tap an ass kicker. Lots of twists and turns, massive sand pit, and 2 sets of barriers…a true power course, with lots of accelerating and quick handling. Start was an all out sprint up the road into a left hander and then back down the long bumpy straight and back up the road again to the right and through the drunken Expo. The fans were awesome. No crashes…so that was a good thing. Backside of the course consisted of mostly grass a lot of turns and a barrier run up…then you went through the woods, past the expo and right into the sand pit. You could ride most of it going in but a sharp right hander was easier to run…out of the sand into another barrier run up and then through some more turns and the pain stick was hittin’. 67 starters…finished 45. Not bad considering the 5th row start. Back to the trailer for a much deserved bullet and then home to catch the end of the Broncos game…which we won. They added another race for January 3rd so I’m pretty stoked.
